About Us

We are a 4-part (SATB) choir singing music for the traditional Anglican BCP services of Matins, Eucharist and Evensong, covering styles from early Renaissance to the present day.

New voices are always welcome!   There is no audition, but it is expected that singers will have a reasonable ability to read music and are prepared to commit to singing at most of our regular services and weekly rehearsals.

The choir practices every Thursday evening at 6pm.

St John’s also boasts what many of us believe is the finest organ in Canberra! A superb 2-manual tracker action instrument built by Ron Sharp of Sydney Opera House fame, particularly suitable for baroque music, but versatile enough for most styles of music.
